At Real Madrid it seems the decision has been made that it is time for a change of generation on the bench whatever happens this season. The future of Carlo Ancelotti is up in the air and there is a lot of speculation about his situation. Everything seems to indicate that his departure from the Santiago Bernabéu bench would mean the arrival of Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen.

A few days ago, the coach spoke about his future and sees himself fulfilling his contract, convinced that winning LaLiga EA Sports or the Champions League will not result in his dismissal. “There is no doubt about it,” he said. “The club and I want to continue as far as possible. If something strange happens there may be changes, as normally happens in football, but we are working well. The club has confidence in my work and I in what they give me in every sense,” he said.

And the fact is that the Italian coach had shown himself open to renewing with Real Madrid. ‘I want to be very clear, I will never decide the date of my departure from this club in my life,’ he declared. “I know full well that the day will come, but when it might be I don’t know, it’s not up to me. It could be tomorrow after the game, the next day, in a year or in five years. I don’t know, but I have an advantage and a goal. Florentino will be here for another four years and he knows me very well. The goal is to reach Florentino’s four-year mark and for us to say goodbye together with all the love in the world,” added Carlo.

Now, the uncertainty about his future adds a new chapter and that is that faced with the possibility of being dismissed so that Xabi Alonso from Tolosa can arrive, the coach could choose to take advantage of an option that has once again appeared on the horizon, coaching the Brazilian national team. The Brazilian Football Confederation seems to have returned to the fray to try to sign the Italian coach. “I’m told that the CBF has approached Carlo Ancelotti again because they see him as weak at Real Madrid. I think this summer could be the end of his brilliant era; he has won three Champions Leagues with Madrid and nobody believes in the Brazil coach. There’s Guardiola, who is more complicated, and there’s Ancelotti, who they have approached,” said Eduardo Inda on ‘El Chiringuito’.

Okdiario reports that Ancelotti will have until next May to make a decision and decide whether to take the reins of the Brazilian national team for the 2026 World Cup.
