Forget the DOGE Stimulus Check — Here’s What the Government Is Actually Doing with the Savings

The 2025 season has not got off to a good start for Fernando Alonso and Aston Martin. The AMR25 is better than the AMR24. However, the team has not been able to gather all the information they wanted due, firstly, to the problem with the car’s sensors, which did not allow the team to do as much running as they would have liked during the afternoon of the first day and which took them more than 40 minutes to change. Then, that same day, there were the telemetry failures with the car.

Aston Martin’s secret weapon

With the arrival of March, good news is now official at Aston Martin, which needs to polish and improve things ahead of the start of the season. Adrian Newey is now officially a member of Aston Martin. He is not just an engineer, he is an architect of champions who comes from Red Bull and who they hope will become the secret weapon of Fernando Alonso’s team to compete with the big names on the starting grid. Newey’s signing is not only a technical reinforcement, but also a boost to the team’s morale.

The wait is over: after five months, the Briton is now part of the Aston Martin structure. He will start working side by side with the factory workers and also with Fernando Alonso: the moment they both wanted has arrived. The former Red Bull, Williams and McLaren man has been a safe bet in all the teams he has been in thanks to his unparalleled designs. His ability to interpret the regulations and design unbeatable cars will not have an immediate effect, but it will be key to the ambitious 2026 plan.

It has been a long wait and at the beginning of September Aston Martin issued a statement saying: “Adrian Newey has made a long-term commitment to the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team. The renowned British designer will start work at the team’s headquarters in Silverstone from March 1, 2025, taking up a new position as Technical Managing Partner.” The day has now arrived and from this Monday he will start working on the car that Fernando Alonso will compete in.

Dani Pedrosa gets wet on the brutal union of Alonso and Newey

The union of Adrian Newey, who for many is the best engineer in history, and Fernando Alonso at Aston Martin has aroused a lot of interest in the world of motor racing. One of those who has given his opinion on this, hopefully fruitful, union is the world motorcycling champion Dani Pedrosa.

“I’m very curious to see how much Newey can do and the combination of him and Fernando’s magic in making up for the car’s current shortcomings as quickly as possible. When you put together a man with ideas and a magician with good hands, and the two have a good rapport, it can be a very powerful combination,” Pedrosa told DAZN.
