Rodrygo is an important player at Real Madrid, as he demonstrated last Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at the Santiago Bernabéu against Atlético Madrid. The player opened the scoring and after scoring he sent a clear message: “I’m still here”, just after kissing the Real Madrid crest and making a gesture with his fingers pointing to the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The goal against Atlético makes him the fifth Real Madrid player to reach 25 in the Champions League.
As well as scoring, he was named man of the match: “I don’t know how many I’ve got now. It’s an individual award, but it’s very important because it rewards you for all the effort you’ve put in during the game. I’m happy with my game and with the team’s. It was very difficult, but in the end we won.”
“Wearing this shirt is what motivates me. I always dreamed of playing for this club. It’s been a very good time for me and I hope it continues like this. Now comes one of the most important moments of the season and I want to be decisive,” said the Brazilian.
Everything seems to indicate that Rodrygo will be a vital part of the Real Madrid 25-26 project. Jude Bellingham singled out Rodrygo as “the most talented and best-endowed player at Real Madrid”… concluding by saying that “he is the player who sacrifices the most and doesn’t complain”.
Ratiu: “If I could leave anyone out, it would be Rodrygo”
Rayo Vallecano player Andrei Ratiu, who will face the Whites this Sunday at 4:15 pm at the Santiago Bernabéu.
In an interview prior to the match, the player wanted by Barça and who is tipped to be a protagonist during the summer market, made it clear which Real Madrid player he thinks is the best and the one he fears the most: “My weakness is Rodrygo. If I could leave anyone out, it would be him”.
