Ronald Araújo’s departure is taking shape: a new suitor emerges

It is well known that FC Barcelona‘s economic situation is not the best in view of the transfer market. Given the club’s financial situation, it is necessary to let players out before letting them in. FC Barcelona has achieved a considerable improvement in its salary cap, but the application of the 1:1 rule, i.e. that for every euro of salary savings another euro can be spent, is not guaranteed. This doubt that leaves the application of the rule up in the air would be due to the fact that LaLiga has questioned one of Barça’s two operations for the VIP seats.

Letting go to come in

That is why it is so important for Barça to be attentive to the options that may arise in the market, as well as trying to showcase various players who either do not count for the club or who are believed to be able to generate financial income. The main names with an open exit door are Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre and Christensen. The three players count little or nothing for Hansi Flick.

The first is out of the squad by default and several avenues have already been opened for his departure after not being included in January. Another who could have left in January is the Cantabrian player who started to play a leading role under the German coach, but has been losing ground to the point of also being left out of several squads. Finally, the Danish centre-back is the eternal casualty and, whenever it seems that he is going to return, he always suffers a new relapse that keeps him as Flick’s fifth choice centre-back.

In addition to these names, there are others who do have a bit more of a leading role, but they are not essential and have suitors. We are talking about Pau Víctor and Eric García. The 23-year-old striker has been left out of Flick’s rotations due to the tough competition from Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski. This summer, when his registration was up in the air, he was linked with Real Betis.

The centre-back had everything ready to return to Girona in January, but Hansi Flick stopped him leaving, as he considers him a fundamental piece of the puzzle. However, looking ahead to the 25/26 season, it is likely that Eric will prefer to step aside as he has the interest of Real Sociedad.

As for names that do not have the door open, but that given the economic situation in the face of a juicy offer could leave, there are Ferran Torres, Fermín or Gavi. Three players who at times are key for Barça, but who have luxury suitors who could put a lot of money on the table.
