The international break has left Real Madrid without 16 of their players who, as is normal, have crossed paths in some cases. This is what happened to Modric, Mbappé, Tchouaméni and Camavinga, who met in last night’s Croatia-France match.
Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappé starred in one of the most curious moments of the UEFA Nations League matchday. As the final stretch of the match approached, in which Croatia were clearly winning 2-0 against the French team who were throwing everything they had to reduce the gap, the two players clashed.
Mbappé was advancing into the box with Modric doing his best to stop him and steal the ball. At that moment the Frenchman went to the ground. Faced with the situation, the Croatian midfielder pounced on him to reproach him for having dropped to provoke the penalty.
Modric’s steal of the ball had been clean and he let him know it. The Croatian number 10 quickly approached the Frenchman and reproached him somewhat heatedly for letting himself fall to the ground. It was a gesture that initially took the Frenchman, still on the ground, by surprise.
Subsequently, the midfielder helped Kylian to get up, to the laughter of both of them, while the referee approached to prevent the situation, which was already under control and between friends, from escalating. After that play, the two Real Madrid players hugged, demonstrating the great friendship that unites them.
As for the match, Croatia won with a Modric who seems tireless and who put in a great performance in the home win, while Mbappé, despite having a few chances, did not live up to what is expected of him on his return to the national team.
