The break in the league and the choice of Thursday 27th for the Barça-Osasuna match made it difficult for Hansi Flick to come up with a game plan and a competitive starting eleven that would allow him to stay at the top of the table and maintain his unbeaten streak in 2025. However, in the last few hours he has received a couple of pieces of good news that could make the task easier.
The road to the long-awaited treble will not be easy, as three a full schedule awaits Barça after the break, starting with the postponed match against Osasuna, corresponding to matchday 27 of LaLiga, on Thursday 27 March, if their appeal is not accepted. This is a match that will force Hansi Flick’s team to play a total of five games in just 13 days.
With Barça-Osasuna scheduled for 27 March at 21:00, Lewandowski, Raphinha, Araujo, Gerard Martín, Fermín, Pablo Torre and Héctor Fort would arrive with barely enough time. In this sense, Flick has received two pieces of good news that could improve the situation.
On the one hand, the RFEF announced that it is releasing Fermín López, Gerard Martín and Pablo Torre from the match scheduled for Tuesday in Darmstadt (Germany) against the German team. This means that the three Barça players will not have to play a match just 48 hours before the Azulgrana’s league match at Montjuïc against Osasuna, scheduled for next Thursday (21:00).
On the other hand, it is unlikely that Araujo and Raphinha will be able to play in Barça-Osasuna, but they could be called up and be available depending on the result of the match if they arrive after the latest news.
According to SPORT, ‘the idea is that both of them will return to Spain on a private plane with the rest of the South American internationals who play for Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid. That is to say, Giménez, Valverde, Nahuel Molina, De Paul, Ángel Correa, Julián Álvarez, Endrick and Vinicius’.
Furthermore, in the case of Ronald Araujo, Marcelo Bielsa could release the Barcelona centre-back for the second test that the Uruguayan team will play in La Paz and, therefore, he would return earlier to Barcelona and be able to start the game.
