Barcelona gets active in the transfer market: a familiar name is back on the table for the left-back position

Fernando Alonso was forced to retire at the Chinese Grand Prix due to a problem with the brakes on the AMR25. However, the driver continues to trust Aston Martin blindly and is committed to getting the most out of a car that, for the moment, is not producing the expected results. Proof of this is his radio message after abandoning the last race, which demonstrates his commitment to the team.

Fernando Alonso and his confidence in Aston Martin

Since the pre-season tests at the Bahrain circuit, Fernando Alonso has not stopped praising the work of Aston Martin for the new season. He talks about improvements to the car, more reliable in corners, better aerodynamics, more stability, less vibration, and he believes that the team is ready to lead the midfield. Something that has not been seen in the first races. “We have to wait for several races, the circuits in China, Japan and Bahrain are very different,” said the Spaniard. ‘The car is more stable than last year’s, but we haven’t solved all the problems yet.”

Fernando Alonso is positive about the work being done at Silvertone, and all that’s left is for the pieces to fall into place. ’We have the best factory and the best team. But that alone does not guarantee success. Everything has to fit together. It’s much more complicated than in football.

Fernando Alonso and his radio message

Despite the problems in the race in China that led to Fernando Alonso’s retirement, but before entering the pits, he tried to find a solution. “That’s how it is for the moment. I see serious problems with the rear brake temperature, so we’ll check it out.” And once in the pits with nothing more to do and the race lost, Fernando Alonso reassured the team about the error and wanted to return to the track to collect data from the AMR25 for the next races. This is what he said over the radio when he abandoned the race. “Don’t worry (about not finding the solution). Thanks for trying. Would you like to go out again to try something?” However, the problem did not seem to have a solution and they decided that it was best for him to get out of the car, although he is from Asturias he kept insisting: “I’ll stay by the garage and take a look just in case”, said a resigned Alonso, showing his total commitment to the team.

Two weeks to improve

After starting with two consecutive races, there is a two-week break until the race in Japan, valuable time for the factory to analyze what has happened in the two races held to date.

“We haven’t gone into detail, we’ve been very busy since the tests in Bahrain, then Australia and China. We’ll have more time when I get back to the factory.

Hopefully Adrian Newey will give his opinion on what is happening, something that Fernando Alonso has been waiting for since his signing. “I’m really looking forward to working with him. I know his approach is unique and that his ability to find innovative solutions can make a difference.” “All I know is that he is very motivated, looking at 2026 but also at what we do every weekend. I know how he thinks. We’ve been talking for a long time. We had lunch last year at the Monaco Grand Prix, I know what he’s capable of and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Fernando Alonso has once again demonstrated his commitment to Aston Martin and the blind faith he has in the project. The start of the season has been bad, but he is confident that it will only get better and that Aston Martin can improve for the next few races and can put the Aston Martin at least in the middle of the grid.
