Alexander-Arnold and the Club World Cup: here’s how things stand right now

Real Madrid is closely monitoring the progress of Dean Huijsen, one of the most promising central defenders on the European football scene. However, despite the club’s genuine intentions, the negotiations have become thorny due to an unforeseen factor: the footballer’s father. His complicated nature and his approach to the talks have made the club tread carefully. Although Real Madrid assume that they will not try to strengthen the defense this summer, the possibility of signing Dean Huijsen remains on the table.

Huijsen’s entourage, a complicated negotiation

The main impediment to Real Madrid’s operation Huijsen would not be the cost of the transfer or the attitude of the player, but rather his father. The fact is that he is not opposed to his son ending up at the Whites, but his willingness to negotiate has not been the best on the whole. In Valdebebas they already know that his character is extremely complicated and although interest in Huijsen is still there and with absolute conviction, the Whites prefer to go slowly.

Recently, Huijsen’s father posted on his social networks a cover of the AS newspaper in which the possible arrival of the youngster at Real Madrid was mentioned. His statements also show that he is very attentive to what has to do with his son and Real Madrid: this active attitude has been explained in the city of Madrid as a reflection of the fact that the operation could get tangled up if not done properly.

Huijsen, a real option despite Madrid’s stance

Despite the number of obstacles encountered throughout the negotiations, the possibility of Huijsen pulling on a Real Madrid shirt is real. The central defender, who has made his mark at Bournemouth, is considered a future option. His aerial play, speed and good footwork make him an ideal candidate to cover the defensive line of the Whites in the medium and long term.

However, Real Madrid maintains its position that it has no plans to sign a central defender this summer. They are confident that Militao and Alaba will make a full return to fitness and that young talents such as Raúl Asencio will make progress. They also have the versatility of Tchouaméni as a one-off solution in defence. However, the club is not ruling out the possibility of rethinking its ideas if an exceptional option presents itself.

Where will Real Madrid get Huijsen?

The player’s father’s temperament is a circumstance that could be detrimental to the operation. The board of the white club likes to avoid conflict in the negotiation of signings, something that is even more noticeable if the price for the player is around 60 million euros. But they also have to consider whether there is really a need to strengthen the defense or whether they can afford to wait.

The position maintained by Real Madrid for now is very clear: there is no hurry to get a central defender, although they are not closing the door on the opportunity to do so. In the event that the conditions improve and the negotiation with the footballer’s environment is optimal, Dean Huijsen could be a reinforcement for the future of the merengue club’s defense.
