FC Barcelona have gone 24 matches without defeat in 2025, with a record of 20 wins and 4 draws. What stands out most about this great run is the offensive capacity of the Azulgranas. The goals scored by Hansi Flick’s team are distributed as follows: 84 goals in LaLiga EA Sports, 36 goals in the UEFA Champions League, being the team with the most goals so far in this edition of the tournament, 18 in the Copa del Rey and seven in the Spanish Super Cup.
Despite these devastating statistics, as they approach the final stretch of the season, they will have to think about the transfer market that is just around the corner. Given the economic situation of the Catalans, Deco’s job is arduous and several sides must close out departures and renewals that improve fair play in order to be able to sign players. One of the profiles they are looking for for the summer is an attacking midfielder.
Lewandowski and the Champions League
Robert Lewandowski had gone a few games without scoring, but he came up big when it mattered most. Barça sealed their place in the quarter-finals against Borussia Dortmund in Montjuic thanks to the offensive potential of their LRL trident, who once again came up big in the Champions League. Raphinha and the Polish striker are in the running to be the top scorer in the competition where Barça are the team to beat.
The legendary Barça striker is the first player to score more than 10 goals with three different clubs in one edition of the European Cup. So far, Lewandowski has scored 11 goals in as many games in the current edition of the Champions League.
In search of the centenary
Against Borussia he came within a whisker of reaching a century of goals in a Barça shirt, but he did reach another historic figure. He is on 40 goals, as in seven of his eight seasons at Bayern Munich, and there are still 13 games to go. His voracity knows no bounds. What’s more, he is well on the way to reaching the century mark with 99 goals as a Barça player.
The Pole has his finger on the trigger again. Borussia is one of his favorite victims. He has scored 29 goals in 28 games against them. Yesterday’s goals came in the following manner. The 2-0 (48′), closing the virtuous circle of the trident. Lamine’s cross, Raphinha’s centered header and an impeccable header from the LaLiga top scorer. The 3-0 (66′), latching on to a formidable cross from Fermin.
As well as being LaLiga’s top scorer, the Polish striker seems to want the title at European level too. Lewandowski is the second highest scorer in the top continental competition with 11 goals, just one less than Raphinha but one more than Guirassy.
Ferran is in the running
Ferran Torres is the candidate to be the future FC Barcelona center forward. The former Valencia player took advantage of the media day to accept the challenge of replacing Robert Lewandowski. “I can be Barça’s starting center forward,” he said.
“I have confidence in myself and I can be the starting center forward for FC Barcelona, why not?” he asked rhetorically. “If the club thinks it has to look for another one, fine, welcome, but I can handle the competition very well,” he stressed. His numbers speak for themselves.
Victor Osimhen, on the agenda
One of the candidates for the Barça attack has appeared on the agenda in recent hours. He is Victor Osimhen (26), a striker who is making the most of his stay at Galatasaray. On loan from Napoli, he has a €75 million buy-out clause for teams not playing in Italy. Courted by Juventus and the Premier League, the Nigerian’s future is in the hands of the Neapolitan team. So his signing will not be exactly easy for the Catalans.
