Ronald Araújo’s departure is taking shape: a new suitor emerges

Real Madrid will have to pay Leverkusen a fortune for Xabi Alonso. Sources in Germany reveal that the coach has an agreement with his current club to leave, but in exchange for a double-digit million euro fee.

For months, Real Madrid’s target if Carlo Ancelotti left has been Xabi Alonso, coach of Bayer Leverkusen. The style proposed by the San Sebastian native seems tailor-made for the white team, with a vertical and offensive game without sacrificing touch, similar to the way he played when he was a footballer.

Many claim that he has already signed, but the truth is that he has one more year on his contract and will have to be paid for. Real Madrid has been in contact with the Basque coach and has let him know that they are counting on him if Ancelotti does not stay at the club next season. In fact, according to recent reports, the Whites would be willing to pay for him. There was talk of an offer of €6 million.

However, it will not be so easy to get him out of Bayer Leverkusen. According to the newspaper BILD, there is a verbal agreement between Xabi Alonso and the German club whereby the coach can leave the club before the end of his contract (June 2026) to join a top-flight club.

All this, of course, in exchange for the payment of a transfer fee for the coach’s services. Although the German media does not specify the amount, it does maintain that it is in double digits, so at least €10 million would go to Bayer Leverkusen.

Jürgen Klopp enters the scene

The 15-time Champions League winner is said to be following in the footsteps of the iconic Jürgen Klopp. A coach who left an indelible mark at Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, he is now in charge of football at Red Bull. With Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso’s future uncertain, Real Madrid would be opening up a new avenue that would be a bombshell in the summer transfer market.
