Barcelona Lineup vs. Espanyol in LaLiga: A Champion’s XI

What happens at Imola will determine much of Alonso’s and Aston Martin’s 2026

This is not Camavinga’s year. The Frenchman was looking to establish himself in the team this season with the departure of Kroos and Modric nearing the end of his career, but he has taken a step back in recent games. The player was once again one of the negative protagonists of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.

Camavinga’s season is one of the most inconsistent since he joined the team last August 2021. At just 18 years old, the French footballer has been progressing as expected, but this season that progress has been brought to a screeching halt.

This season, he has been seen as a footballer somewhere between complacent and weighed down by injuries, which have prevented him from performing at his best. At the same time, he has looked anxious and hasty, both with the ball and in defense, creating situations that have hurt Real Madrid.

This scenario raises an inevitable question: should Real Madrid consider a sale if an attractive offer comes in? Although his youth and quality could justify giving him more time, the current market values players of his profile very highly.

Manchester City has set its sights on Eduardo Camavinga to bolster its midfield for next season. Eduardo Camavinga is one of the most promising and attractive players in the impressive European market, and several of the giants of soccer are looking to sign him. Among the main contenders are Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.

Sell before he loses more value

His market value has risen to €70 million, which is still astronomical for such a young player (22), but when put into context, it is no longer such a remarkable amount.

Since June 2023, almost two years ago, the Frenchman’s market value had always been above €85 million. It peaked after winning the last Champions League, reaching €100 million. In just under a year, it has been devalued by €30 million.

This is largely due to the fact that Eduardo Camavinga is one of Real Madrid’s most questioned players this season. After four years at the club, he is probably having his worst season in white, although in the Champions League return leg against Atlético he showed signs of his best form.
