Big Change Could Impact Your 2026 Social Security Raise — Here’s What to Know

Rodrygo’s departure is on hold… for now: Real Madrid activates a plan to replace him

Real Madrid has been known in recent years for exporting talent to the five major leagues. The performance of Nico Paz in Italy’s Serie A is a reflection of this. He has scored twice as many goals as Arda Güler, and his influence has been key to Como’s good run. His growth under Cesc Fàbregas has been evident and he could continue to progress in Italy unless he wants to return to Real Madrid and be a substitute for big names such as Bellingham or Kylian Mbappé.

Return to Real Madrid

Real Madrid has reserved the option to sign him back for next season for €8 million, an affordable price for a club of its size. However, the player and his entourage are aware that allowing the buy-back clause to be exercised could mean losing the continuity and prominence that the young player is enjoying in Serie A.

Proof that Real Madrid is keeping an eye on the player’s situation can be found in the words of Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti a few days ago: “He’s one of ours, we’re following him, he’s doing very well, I have no doubts, at the end of the season we’ll decide what to do. If I have to give advice to a young coach… I think patience is a great quality,” said the Italian coach.

Nico Paz’s father is clear

Nico Paz’s father, Pablo, gave an interview to La Provincia di Como and spoke about his son. “I think if you ask Nico what he would like to do, he would definitely like to stay in Como for another year: he feels great, he’s happy, and with Fàbregas on the bench, it’s like doing a master’s degree. He likes everything here: the team, his teammates, the people… And I would also agree to him continuing in white and blue. Of course, there are more important interests at stake, but for us it would be fine to stay in Como for another year,” said the Argentine midfielder’s father.

Nico Paz’s father reveals how they were convinced despite other offers: “We really liked this project, and Fàbregas’ presence was fundamental, as he spoke to us and explained that Nico would have the opportunity to play the way he likes. Talking to Cesc was crucial.”

Several suitors

Nico Paz has several suitors in Serie A. One of them is Inter Milan, who are said to be bidding hard for the attacking midfielder. Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan want him in their squad for the 2025/26 season, but the final say on his future will be had by Real Madrid, who can buy back Nico Paz for just €9 million.

Scouts from a big Premier League club, Tottenham, have recently traveled to Italy to follow the player’s progress. The Spurs’ scouts have been “very impressed” with his performance and have not hesitated to recommend his signing to the board.

Nico Paz chooses Lamine Yamal

On the official channel of Como 1907, the former Real Madrid player had no hesitation in choosing Lamine Yamal when his teammate asked him which player he would like to play with. “I’ve been lucky enough to play for Real Madrid, the best team in the world, to play with Vinicius and Bellingham… To name another, right now I’d go with Lamine Yamal, who I think is one of the best in the world right now, and at his age… I’d really like to play with him.”

An offer on the table

“Chelsea is ready to break the bank with a €30 million offer for Nico Paz, the Argentine gem who has shone this season with Como,” reports the website fichajes.net. Therefore, the English side looks set to try to sign the Real Madrid youth player this summer, although everything is in the hands of Florentino Pérez. Remember that Madrid has the option to buy back the player for €8 million and 50% of the rights to a future sale.
