Aston Martin will bring new improvements for the upcoming races. According to Grada3, the British team, in addition to the minor updates planned for the Miami and Italian Grands Prix, has new improvements available for its system that have not yet been officially announced and will be implemented when they are ready.
Aston Martin is not abandoning the AMR25
Aston Martin has its sights set on next season. Most of the workers at the Silverstone factory are focused solely on next season’s car, hoping that the new regulations and the resources invested will result in a car that can fight for everything from 2026 onwards. However, after a poor start to the season, the AMR25 is not alone for this campaign, and hard work is underway to improve the car for the current season.
A winning car or one that is fighting for the top spots is practically out of the question, but the team wants to take a step forward to fight and consolidate its position in the middle of the table, a position it should be occupying now, but the poor development of the AMR25 has prevented this.
New updates from Aston Martin
Aston Martin’s first updates are scheduled for this weekend – at the Miami Grand Prix – and the next race on July 18 – the Italian Grand Prix. These updates will be the first to bear the stamp of the new wind tunnel, which was unveiled at the beginning of March.
However, according to information obtained by Grada3, Aston Martin is confident that the new wind tunnel will provide unanticipated improvements, and is therefore preparing a new package to be introduced as soon as possible. These updates are already available on the Silverstone factory’s systems. They must now be implemented for testing and, once their performance has been verified, the team will announce them.
Change of direction at Aston Martin
The poor start to the season has led to changes within Silverstone. Although most resources remain focused on 2026, as we have already mentioned, it has been decided to make an effort to improve this season for two reasons. The first is to avoid finishing at the back of the grid at the end of the world championship. The second is that each update released by the team will serve to measure the accuracy of the wind tunnel and the new mechanisms implemented. Everything that can be improved on the AMR25 will serve as a guide for the AMR26. This is key data and the team wants to have it on the table so that everything goes as planned next season.
Initially, there were two working groups dedicated to Aston Martin. In principle, after the first package of updates, the first group would move on to the AMR26 organization chart, leaving only one group in charge of mid-season improvements. We do not know if this structure has changed, but we do know that the plans are different from what was planned at the beginning of the year.
This is good news for Aston Martin, and it is good news for Fernando Alonso, who does not have high hopes for the improvements, but does have confidence in the hard work being done by the team to continue improving day by day and arrive in better shape next year.
Aston Martin has a lot at stake and needs to start proving that it can become a major F1 team and that it has the ability to compete with the big names in motorsport, such as Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes.
