Lewandowski’s exit is near and Barça makes its move: they’re going to repeat the Yamal formula

Barça has been dealt a heavy blow after being knocked out of the Champions League final following a clear defeat to Inter Milan in the semi-final. This resounding defeat ends the dream of winning the treble and shifts the focus to other issues such as the fight for LaLiga and planning for a new season in which to compete for the European Cup. A new season in which some players will not feature.

Pablo Torre and his future

One of those players with an uncertain future is Pablo Torre. The young player signed for FC Barcelona with high expectations for his future. However, although his performance started off strong this season, his role has faded over the weeks. The midfielder has only played in 12 games, including two in the Champions League, eight in LaLiga, and two in the Copa. That said, in the 373 minutes he has played, he has scored four goals and provided three assists.

The Barça management has never doubted the player’s talent, which is why the club’s main idea is not to punish him for his lack of playing time and has a clear strategy. The club wants to extend his contract, which expires on June 30, 2026, and seek a loan move for next season that would guarantee regular playing time and competitive rhythm, something that, given the circumstances, seems very difficult at the current Barça.

Pablo Torre’s injury: when will he return?

The player is currently injured. This was announced by Barça a few days ago: “First-team player Pablo Torre is suffering from discomfort in his left knee. His return to the team will be decided based on his progress.”

The injury is not serious, but he has missed out on being called up for the Barça’s last few key games, including the Champions League semi-final. Against Real Valladolid, he was expected to get some playing time due to the massive rotations applied by Hansi Flick, but his injury dashed the Cantabrian’s chances of getting some minutes to prove himself.

Now, those close to him expect Pablo to be back next week when, if Barça wins El Clásico on Sunday, the team could officially win LaLiga and, therefore, give playing time to the less regular players. The matches at Montjuïc against Villarreal and at San Mamés against Athletic Club could once again be his big showcase.
