Rodrygo Goes could leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. The Brazilian footballer’s poor performance, especially so far in 2025, is said to be one of the main reasons for his departure, but not the only one. He is one of the few players who could be sold to fund new signings, and Real Madrid understands that with Vinicius and Mbappé, it already has plenty of players of the same caliber.

Rodrygo’s poor season

Rodrygo’s quality is beyond question for Real Madrid’s management and fans. But it is also beyond question that he is a very inconsistent player and that, when he is in a slump, he finds it very difficult to get back on track. In fact, he has not scored in over two months, since the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at the Santiago Bernabéu against Atlético Madrid, a match that the Whites won 2-1.

But perhaps what is attracting the most attention about the Brazilian is his attitude on the pitch. In recent games, he has looked more subdued than usual, limiting himself to sticking to the right wing, waiting for the ball, and making wrong decisions for the team. He seems listless and apathetic, something that has never been seen in his six seasons as a Real Madrid player.

Offers for Rodrygo

Rodrygo is one of the players who is generating the most interest among teams. With Vinicius and Mbappé out of reach for a possible transfer, the top Premier League teams consider signing the Brazilian winger to be more feasible. Five of the big names in the English league have shown interest in him. One of the most talked about in recent years has been Guardiola‘s Manchester City, which offers the player the status and prominence he wants, as well as the opportunity to play on the left wing. Manchester United and Liverpool have also shown interest, but in the case of the Anfield club, the renewal of Mohamed Salah‘s contract seems to rule out a signing.

However, the destinations that now seem most likely to sign Rodrygo are Arsenal and Chelsea. These are the two teams that seem to be showing the most interest in securing the player’s services, and they are the ones that most appeal to the Brazilian.

Rodrygo and his future at Real Madrid

Rodrygo is aware that he has lost his place at Real Madrid. The arrival of Mbappé has relegated him to the sidelines, and this has been evident in his poor performance throughout the season. The player is considering a change of scenery, and Real Madrid would be willing to sell him for around €100 million.

His role has been reduced to such an extent that this Sunday could be the definitive test for him to make a final decision. Throughout the season, he has been an undisputed starter for the team, despite the poor season, but it seems that against Barcelona, the Brazilian could be a substitute given the excellent form of Arda Güler and Ancelotti’s need to strengthen the midfield. His substitution could be a definitive blow.

Rodrygo could be playing his last games as a Real Madrid player. He is considering leaving, has good offers, and Real Madrid would be willing to let him go in order to sign players who meet the team’s real needs. The end of the season and the arrival of the new coach, if he finally arrives, will determine the Brazilian’s future for next season.
