Carlo Ancelotti appeared at a press conference ahead of the match against Mallorca, but the main topic of discussion was his departure from Real Madrid at the end of the season. “From the 26th, I will be the coach of Brazil, but today I am the coach of Real Madrid and I want to finish this final stretch well, to end this fantastic adventure in the best possible way.”

Carlo Ancelotti and his departure from Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti did not want to answer questions about his future after it was announced that he will be the next coach of Brazil, but he had no choice but to face the press, in a serious tone, but acknowledging that he is happy with everything that has happened around him.

“I am very happy. If I hadn’t had the press conference, it would have been a fantastic day. I have to explain things that I don’t want to explain because I want to respect this shirt until the very last moment.”

“I have to think about what I’m going through, the days I have left here. I have great respect for this club, and I’m focused on what I have to do in this final stretch of a spectacular adventure.”

The announcement of his departure was made in a statement by the Brazilian Football Confederation, while Real Madrid has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

“Real Madrid will release a statement when it wants to, no problem. I don’t know when it will be released, but it will be when they think the time is right.”

Ancelotti satisfied with his time at Real Madrid

The Italian coach had nothing but words of gratitude for his six seasons with the team.

“Football, like life, is an adventure that begins and ends. The day I arrived, I knew that one day it would end. A very beautiful period is coming to an end. I’ve had a good time and I think people have had a good time.”

“The day I arrived here, if they had told me I would win eleven titles (second spell), I would have signed it with my blood.” Now that his time as coach is over, ”I don’t regret anything. I’ve had a fantastic time and I want to spend the days I have left here in the same way. I’ve given my all and the titles speak for themselves.”

The reasons for his departure

The coach did not want to reveal when he began negotiations with Brazil, but he did acknowledge that his departure was mutual and that he never had any problems with Florentino Pérez.

“I never felt that Real Madrid didn’t want me. Madrid will love me even if I leave for Brazil on the 26th. They have always shown me affection.” ”It was time for a change. I take it in stride. It was a mutual decision.”

He insists that there are many reasons why someone might stop being Real Madrid coach, “a new impetus for the club or a new impetus for the coach. There’s no need to make a drama out of it. A thousand thanks to this club, and I will remain a Real Madrid fan for life. I never thought I could coach Real Madrid for six years.”

Finally, Carlo Ancelotti wanted to send a message to the Real Madrid fans, recalling some of the great nights, magical nights, that have been experienced at the Santiago Bernabéu, with great comebacks against Chelsea, PSG, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich.

“We’ve had a great time, not everything has gone perfectly, but some nights we’ve had a wonderful time at the Santiago Bernabéu that I will never forget, and I know that the fans won’t forget it either.
