Latest news on Huijsen’s signing for Real Madrid

Rodrygo Goes has had a difficult season at Real Madrid. His 2025 has been poor in terms of performance, he has not scored since the Champions League match against Atlético Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu, but he has looked disconnected in the final stretch of the championship. He has been one of the players singled out by the fans, and since the Copa del Rey final, he has missed the league games against Celta and Barcelona, the second of which he spent on the bench without even warming up. This has generated a lot of noise and speculation, and the player has been forced to respond on social media.

Rodrygo is going through his worst moment

Rodrygo is a player whose class is beyond doubt, but he has had a problem since he arrived at Real Madrid: his inconsistency. When he is on form, he is an unstoppable player, with pace, goals… but when he goes through a bad patch, he finds it very difficult to get his head above water and turn the situation around. That seems to be what has been happening to him since the start of 2025. The start of the season was good, he seemed to be proving himself against Vinicius and the arrival of Mbappé, but the arrival of the new year seems to have sunk him.

His last goal in a white shirt was in the Champions League, against Atlético Madrid in the first leg of the round of 16. He hasn’t scored since, but worse still, his performance has dropped, and this has been accompanied by an attitude that has not gone down well at the Santiago Bernabéu. His last appearance this season was in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona: his attitude was surprising, static on the right wing, not getting involved, and when he received the ball, he just faced up, without linking up with his teammates, and couldn’t even manage a dribble. Ancelotti took him off at half-time and he hasn’t been seen since.

Rodrygo hasn’t played again

After being eliminated by Barcelona, and with Real Madrid still alive in La Liga, it was time to host Celta. The Brazilian was out with a fever, which was already striking. But the alarm bells rang at the Camp Nou. He was substituted and his place was taken by Güler, which did not attract much attention given the Turkish player’s performance and the need to strengthen the midfield. But in the final minutes, when Vinicius asked to be substituted and Ancelotti brought on Víctor Muñoz, everything blew up. Ancelotti confirmed in a press conference that the Brazilian had said he was not fit to play.

The latest episode came on Tuesday afternoon, when Rodrygo withdrew from Real Madrid training, adding to a snowball effect that seemed unstoppable and pointed to Rodrygo’s departure from Real Madrid for the Premier League, where many teams have shown interest in signing him.

Rodrygo speaks out

The Real Madrid player has decided to send a message via social media along with an image—as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words—showing him undergoing tests on his leg, an MRI scan, making it clear that he is indeed injured. The text accompanying the image is clear and concise. “Thank you for all the messages and concerns. I’ll be back soon. Stop making things up.”

Gracias por todos los mensajes y preocupaciones. Volveré pronto 🙏🏾 Dejen de crear cosas 🤦🏾‍♂️ pic.twitter.com/FKQ0nbWq1O

— Rodrygo Goes (@RodrygoGoes) May 14, 2025

Rodrygo has grown tired of the latest reports linking him with a move away from Real Madrid or suggesting that he wants to leave the team. It is true that the footballer has offers from the Premier League, where he would be offered a better salary and become a star player, but he has always said that he wants to stay at Real Madrid. We will see what decision the player and the club take at the end of the season, but for now, he is asking for the speculation to stop.
