Jude Bellingham is one of the most important players at Real Madrid. Although he has been affected by the overall performance of the squad, his play, and above all his dedication and tireless performance throughout the game, have made him one of the favorites of the white fans. But one of the things that is unknown is theseverity of the shoulder injury he has been carrying for many months. It is common to see him play with protection in matches, but there is no game in which the player ends up on the ground in pain after hitting the ground. Now, according to British media outlet ‘The Athletic’, the player has made a decision that will affect his future with the club.

Jude Bellingham’s injury

On November 5, 2023, that is, last season, which has not yet ended, he suffered a nasty fall against Rayo Vallecano in a freak accident and was seriously injured. At the time, the player had to be out for two weeks, but he avoided surgery as he was able to live with the injury and did not want to be off the pitch for a considerable period, especially with the European Championship on the horizon.

However, after the European Championship, with little time to rest before the start of a new season with Real Madrid, with important titles at stake such as the European Super Cup, the Englishman once again postponed the operation, which would have prevented him from playing for much of the start of the season.

Jude Bellingham’s decision affects Real Madrid

But after a year and a half of postponing the operation, trying to find remedies that would prevent him from going under the knife, the footballer, on the recommendation of Real Madrid’s medical services, has decided that it is time to fix that battered shoulder.

Bellingham will undergo surgery when Real Madrid finishes its participation in the Club World Cup. The operation will not be easy to recover from, which is why it has been delayed for so long. Recovery could take up to three months, meaning that the English player could be out of action until well into October, and it is likely that he would not be back to his best until November or December, which is a major setback for one of Real Madrid’s most important players.

An opportunity for players with fewer minutes

There is still a lot to be decided regarding Real Madrid’s squad for next season, but it is clear that it will be an important moment for players with fewer minutes if the Englishman is unavailable. Players such as Brahim and Güler will have a long period of time to show Xabi Alonso what they can do. Or who knows if the team will end up strengthening that position with another signing. There are candidates, but it is not the team’s priority at the moment.

Jude Bellingham has become one of Real Madrid’s most outstanding players and one of the most beloved by the fans. His commitment and teamwork are hallmarks of the Englishman, and are among the things most valued at the Santiago Bernabéu. His absence at the start of the season will be a setback for the team, but there is no doubt that getting rid of those niggles will raise his level once he is back in the team.
