Real Madrid will bring an era to a close this Saturday. When one cycle ends, it is time to start another, and with it will come changes. It is clear that doing the same thing with the same players will yield the same results, so starting with the replacement of Carlo Ancelotti by Xabi Alonso, it is time for the white team to shake things up and let some ‘apples’ fall by their own weight.

A time of change at Real Madrid

The poor performance throughout the season has called into question a large part of the team’s squad. Whether there will be a small or large revolution will depend largely on the decisions made by Xabi Alonso upon his arrival. He will speak with each and every player and evaluate their performance during his first days on the job in order to make decisions.

At Real Madrid, they are clear that, with a few exceptions, no one is untouchable, but no one will be given away either. Everyone has a minimum asking price and the club will be firm in negotiations. What is clear is that throughout the season, the team has had to contend with a defense plagued by injuries that has been a sieve, a deficient attack where only Mbappé has managed to pass with flying colors, and a midfield where the absence of Toni Kroos has been sorely felt.

Real Madrid wants to strengthen its midfield

The void left by the German player, who decided to retire after winning his fifteenth Champions League title with Real Madrid last May, has not been filled, at least not completely. There have been good moments from Ceballos, Modric, and even Arda Güler, but no one has been consistent enough to make people forget the German’s vision and ability to organize the game.

For this reason, the Whites have been scouring the market for months in search of a creative and organizing midfielder to fill the void. The search is not easy, as the prices of players such as Zubimendi, Reijnders, and Stiller, as well as the competition for these players, are high and complicate any deal.

Camavinga in the spotlight

If a new name arrives for the midfield, and although Luka Modric’s departure is more than likely as he has not renewed his contract, it may be necessary to make room. In this regard, one of the players most likely to leave due to his inconsistent performance and the fact that he is currently injured and will miss the World Cup is Eduardo Camavinga.

The player had been improving season after season, but this year he has not been up to the expected standard. Real Madrid are aware that Camavinga has a great future ahead of him, but they could be interested in another type of player, which would open the door for him to leave. However, not at any price.

An insufficient offer

In recent hours, it has emerged that the French midfielder has attracted the interest of Inter Milan, who are in the Champions League final after eliminating Barcelona. According to information published by Defensa Central, the Italian club wants Camavinga and, according to the same source, has already made an offer of €35 million for the player. However, as we pointed out, Real Madrid is willing to let the player leave, but not give him away. The midfielder will not leave the Santiago Bernabéu for less than €70 million, which the club could reinvest in other players.
