Barcelona wrapped up their season on Sunday at San Mamés against Athletic Club, and they did it in classic fashion: with another dominant win. Their 3–0 victory was a fitting end to a year where goal-scoring power became the team’s most valuable weapon — one that helped them secure a LaLiga title, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup.
An elite attacking trio and historic numbers
Barcelona’s offensive strength has been driven by a lethal trio: Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Lewandowski (LRL). Together, they were responsible for more than half of the team’s total goals this season. Supporting players like Ferran Torres and Fermín López also stepped up to contribute in key moments.
The result? Barça became Europe’s top-scoring team, finishing the season with 174 goals in 60 matches — an average of nearly three goals per game. That total includes:
- 102 goals in LaLiga
- 43 in the Champions League (more than finalists PSG)
- 22 in the Copa del Rey
- 7 in the Spanish Super Cup
Blowouts became their signature
Barça’s 24/25 LaLiga campaign ended with 102 goals in 38 matches and 28 wins — 16 of those victories came by at least a three-goal margin. Their final match was no different: a 3–0 win over Athletic Club, featuring a Lewandowski brace and a late goal from Dani Olmo.
In fact, almost 60% of their LaLiga wins were blowouts. No matter the phase of the season, Barça managed to defeat every team in the league except Real Betis — though they did beat them convincingly in the Copa del Rey after two league draws.
Some of the most spectacular wins included:
7–0 vs Real Valladolid
7–1 vs Valencia
5–1 vs Villarreal, Sevilla, and Mallorca
They also scored four goals in eight matches, and secured clean 3–0 wins over Alavés, Osasuna, and Athletic.
Real Madrid: Barça’s favorite victim
This season featured four Clásicos: two in LaLiga, one in the Copa del Rey final, and one in the Supercopa final. Barça won all four — and scored 16 goals in the process, making Real Madrid their most punished rival of the year.
Here are the results:
- 4–0
- 5–2
- 3–2
- 4–3
That dominance says it all.
