Real Madrid is in for a heart-stopping weekend. After last week’s confirmation of the arrival of Dean Huijsen and Monday’s presentation of Xabi Alonso, Florentino Pérez will finalize the return of Nico Paz and try to seal the deals for Alexander–Arnold and Carreras.
Real Madrid and the Club World Cup
Real Madrid is in a hurry, and with good reason. It has until June 10 to finalize the signings of the players it wants to register for the Club World Cup, but it wants to get it done as soon as possible so that they can start training under Xabi Alonso and adapt to the club as quickly as possible. The Whites want to aim for the top in this tournament and are aware that they need to strengthen the squad ahead of the championship, given the weaknesses shown throughout the year.
Dean Huijsen is now official
The first to arrive at Real Madrid is Dean Huijsen. The young center back is now a Whites player, a bet on the future to strengthen the defense starting immediately. His potential has convinced the club and he is expected to take charge of the defense from now on. His presentation will be announced in the coming hours.
Nico Paz returns to Real Madrid
After the departure of Luka Modric was announced at the end of the Club World Cup, it seems necessary to strengthen the midfield, and Nico Paz is one of those chosen to return to the club immediately. His return is inexpensive, €8 million for the clauses signed with Como last season when he was sold, and although he tends to play closer to the area, the level and quality he has shown this season make him an option to consider for Xabi Alonso.
Álvaro Carreras
The signing of Carreras is proving quite complicated, among other things because Benfica is participating in the Club World Cup and wants to keep the player for the championship. Manchester United’s buy-back option, to then sell him to Real Madrid at a lower price, is forcing the Portuguese to negotiate with Real Madrid. The deal could be closed this week.
Alexander-Arnold mess
Real Madrid is immersed in unexpected negotiations for Alexander-Arnold. The player will be a free agent on June 30, so Liverpool is asking for compensation to release him early. His signing will be finalized this week, but that does not mean he will arrive immediately. The club is looking for another option to sign him for free and allow him to play in the Club World Cup.
Real Madrid is moving quickly to close all open fronts ahead of the Club World Cup. There is no doubt that the team needs to strengthen certain areas of the field, especially the defense, as with a full back line, midfielders such as Valverde and Tchouameni will not have to worry about filling defensive positions. However, the arrival of Nico Paz could be key to giving the midfield the vitality and flair that the team needs.
This week, they hope to have everything settled so that Xabi Alonso can get to work with his new team and implement his footballing philosophy as soon as possible. The Club World Cup is just around the corner and Real Madrid must be ready to try and win the title, which would be a first for the club.
