Real Madrid has already submitted the final list of players who will compete in the Club World Cup. Once the transfer window opened by FIFA for the championship closed, clubs had until yesterday to submit to the sports body the names of the players who will take part in the tournament.
The transfer market for the Club World Cup is closed
Late on Tuesday, the transfer market opened exceptionally by FIFA to register new players for the Club World Cup closed. There were no last-minute surprises at Real Madrid, and any doubts that may have remained over the arrival of Carreras or Mastantuono have been cleared up. The former will play in the tournament with Benfica, and the latter with River Plate. Therefore, the White offices have postponed these signings, which will be addressed during the summer once the Club World Cup is over.
News at Real Madrid
Real Madrid has four changes to its squad compared to last season, two departures and two arrivals. The first departure is Jesús Vallejo, who has been ruled out of the championship, although his contract expires on June 30. However, due to a lack of playing time, the club has decided not to renew his contract until after the tournament.
The new signings are Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen. Both players are already with Real Madrid, although the former has not yet trained and will be presented on Thursday.
It has also been confirmed that Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are ready to travel with the group. They are not expected to play much due to their poor physical condition after serious injuries that have kept them out of action for around eight months, but they are expected to gradually build up their fitness and adapt to the group as much as possible.
When does the Club World Cup start?
The FIFA Club World Cup kicks off this Saturday, June 14 (June 15 in Spain due to the time difference), with the match between Al-Ahly and Leo Messi‘s Inter Miami. Real Madrid will make their debut in the competition on Wednesday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. Spanish time, against Al Hilal. Their second match will be played on Sunday 22 against Pachuca at the same time, and they will close the group stage on Friday 27 June at 3:00 a.m. Spanish time against Salzburg. Real Madrid hopes to advance to the next round without too much trouble.
