Real Madrid has confirmed the list of players who will attend the Club World Cup, and with the list confirmed, we now know which jersey number each player will wear. There were two unknowns: the number that Alexander-Arnold will wear on his back and whether Asencio would receive a number from the first team. The doubts have been resolved.

The numbers for the Club World Cup

Xabi Alonso is taking all the players in the squad to the Club World Cup, including those who are injured. Except for Camavinga, who will not be able to play, the rest of the absentees have a chance of playing during the matches, such as Endrick, Mendy, and Brahim, who, although they will arrive just in time, will be available.

Real Madrid has therefore confirmed the shirt numbers for the Club World Cup. The numbers the players will wear on their backs are only definitive for this tournament, as there is expected to be a reshuffle when the tournament ends, as the number 17 worn by Lucas Vázquez and the highly coveted number 10 worn by Modric will become available, as both players will leave the team after the world tournament.

But there could be more numbers available next season, as the Croatian and Galician may not be the only players to leave the team. Fran García (20), Camavinga (6), and Rodrygo (11) could give up their numbers before the start of next season.

Mbappé is aiming to take Modric‘s number 10 for next season, although Bellingham could also opt to wear one of the most sought-after numbers in the world of football.

Alexander-Arnold will wear number 12.

It was an open secret, there weren’t many other options, although there were some. There was great secrecy at Real Madrid ahead of the presentation (this Thursday), but the list sent to FIFA with the confirmed squad has been leaked, revealing the number each player will wear. It is likely that he will keep this number for next season as well, since he cannot wear the number 66 he wore at Liverpool at Real Madrid due to LaLiga regulations.

Asencio stays with 35

For the time being, Raúl Asencio is still considered a Real Madrid Castilla player for this Club World Cup and will therefore keep the number he has worn during his breakthrough season. It is expected that, once the next season begins, the player will officially become a first-team player and will be given a number as a member of the squad. There is talk that he will wear the number 18, but there may still be other numbers available for him to choose from.

Real Madrid travels to the United States on Saturday, the same day the tournament begins, although Xabi Alonso’s side will not make their debut until next Wednesday, June 18, a match that can be followed from Spain at 9:00 p.m. on Telecinco and Dazn (the latter platform broadcasts all Club World Cup matches free of charge). The Basque coach has had little time with his new players, some of whom, such as Vinicius, he has not yet met and will not do so until he arrives on American soil. But Madrid’s goal is the same as always: to win every title.
