Real Madrid has announced a surprising change for next season, and it has nothing to do with players, coaches, or management. Real Madrid has signed with a new clothing brand, which will accompany Real Madrid players around the world. Far from traditional sports brands, the Whites are taking an important step in image and fashion by signing with Louis Vuitton.
Real Madrid will wear Louis Vuitton
The world of soccer goes far beyond the pitch. For some time now, the spotlight has not been exclusively on the grass, and everything surrounding soccer clubs off the field is also newsworthy and must therefore be carefully managed to project the most beneficial image for the club.
For this reason, Real Madrid has reached an agreement with none other than Louis Vuitton, a brand known for its “distinctive elegance that goes beyond sport,” as the club’s announcement on social media states. Starting next season, Real Madrid players, when they have to put on their suits for official events, will wear the legendary French fashion brand, which is spread all over the world and is a benchmark in fashion. It is important to note that the brand has not only set its sights on the entire Real Madrid squad, but has also negotiated a personal agreement with English footballer Jude Bellingham.
This brings an end to Real Madrid’s agreement with Zegna, a partner since 2022.
No changes to sportswear
As far as sportswear is concerned, Real Madrid is maintaining its partnership with Adidas following the latest agreement reached between the two entities in 2019, which will run until June 2028. This is one of the most lucrative contracts in the history of sport, with the Whites receiving $120 million per year plus bonuses in the event of titles.
Real Madrid has been wearing Adidas since the 1998-99 season, so when the current contract expires, which could be extended, the Whites and the Germans will have been together for 30 consecutive years, 34 years in total, as the brand was the Madrid team’s supplier from the 1981-82 season to the 1984-85 season.
There will be no change in sponsorship either, at least for this season. Fly Emirates will continue to appear on the white shirt, something that has been the case since 2013 and was extended in 2022. However, this season will be the last year that they are together, so we will have to see if there is another contract renewal or if, on the contrary, the Whites decide to change their commercial brand. Fly Emirates is an airline based in the United Arab Emirates, belonging to The Emirates Group.
Therefore, Real Madrid will continue to look the same as in previous seasons, with Adidas and Fly Emirates on their shirts, shorts, and sportswear. Only the new designs will change, as is customary for football clubs. However, what will change is the image of the players when they have to dress up for events and trips with the club, where the French brand Louis Vuitton will be responsible for exuding class and elegance when dressing the most important and most successful club in the history of football.
