What’s going on with Brahim? The Malaga-born player, with just over 100 minutes in the Club World Cup, is losing prominence at Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid. In addition, Mastantuono is arriving and further signings are not ruled out for the crowded midfield. Bellingham’s absence for a few months opens up the possibility of covering for him and earning a place in the team. The player does not appear to be looking to leave the Whites, but it remains to be seen what his role in the team will be.

Xabi is confident… but he had other preferences at the World Cup

Xabi Alonso believes he has great potential that he wants to exploit more than Ancelotti has done. The Basque believes the player can play in several positions, such as striker, attacking midfielder, or winger. However, he has not shown that confidence in the player during the Club World Cup. With Ancelotti, he managed to become a “twelfth player,” but now the competition has changed and it is no longer Rodrygo, but Arda Güler or, when he arrives, Mastantuono. There always seems to be someone ahead of him, and his participation in the tournament has been minimal, correct but secondary. Last season, his role increased, but with few starts to his name. He played in 56 games and only started 23.

During the tournament in the United States, his participation has declined, playing just over 100 minutes. Xabi Alonso ended the tournament saying that it had helped him draw conclusions, but he also made it clear that this was the end of the season and that in August they would start from scratch. It remains to be seen whether starting from scratch and Bellingham’s absence from the equation will allow the Malaga-born player to enjoy a more prominent role or whether he will continue to remain in the shadows.

Renewal still underway

He is close to renewing his contract (which expires in 2027) and could benefit from an increasingly expected departure: that of Rodrygo Goes. The agreement is completely finalized, as Daniel Cayetano revealed in Bernabéu Digital. The two sides have been in complete harmony from the outset, meaning that the contract extension is about to be signed. It has not been an easy few months for the Malaga-born player, who has suffered a clear dip in form due to injury, but he will remain at the club for a few more seasons. The club is clear about his potential and does not want to risk losing him.

The player puts Real Madrid first

Despite always being relegated to the background and being the substitute who comes off the bench to shake things up, the player has decided to commit to the club, putting it ahead of the offers he had on the table to leave this summer. Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso’s former club, considered him to be their new Florian Wirtz. He also expressed interest in a possible move to Liverpool if Mohamed Salah were to leave. Another club that has had him in its sights is Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich is also said to have set its sights on Brahim as a replacement for Leroy Sané.

“I always have the ambition to succeed here, I always have. I’m succeeding and I want to be a starter. We know how competitive it is. We are the best players in the world and I want to give my best to be a starter,” said the player during the Club World Cup.
