Neither Luis Díaz nor Rashford: Deco makes a move for another winger for FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona has many issues to deal with as it returns to work. The club is preparing its Asian tour, while it has many departures to finalize, problems with Ter Stegen, Joan García and Szczesny not yet registered as they do not meet the 1:1 rule, and it still wants to go to the market to at least sign the winger it has been looking for for several summers and who has already starred in the first soap opera of the summer with Nico Williams’ rejection. Deco has several targets in mind and is preparing a summit for one of them.

Barcelona still wants a winger

The failure to sign Nico Williams has not slowed down FC Barcelona. The player decided to renew with Athletic and not sign for the Catalan club due to the lack of guarantees from Barça that they would be able to register the player for the start of the season. The club is working to return to the 1:1 rule as soon as possible and believes that by August the problem will be solved, so the search continues for a player to strengthen the attack, where there is a lot of dependence on Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. The club is looking for a player with speed and dribbling ability. A player with dribbling ability who can open up the field and create danger in the final third. In this regard, there are several candidates on the table, including an old acquaintance who, although not a winger as such, can play in that position.

Meeting for Xavi Simons

Although Xavi Simons is not a pure winger, he can play as one, which makes him a very complete option who would bring a lot to the team. The search for a player for this position is no easy task, as there is a lot of demand and little supply, especially with Barça’s limitations, but the Dutchman’s situation is favorable as he wants to leave Leipzig. His current team assumes that his departure is an option, but they will not give the player away for free and will ask for at least €70-80 million to let him go.

The Barça sporting director is meeting with the Dutch player’s agents in a deal that is practically impossible to pull off given his high price tag, according to Sport. However, his price is too high for the Catalan club, which also acknowledged a few days ago that it has an overload in midfield, Xavi Simons’ natural position.

More candidates on the agenda

This option would not be the only one, as other names have been mentioned in recent hours, all of them young players. We are talking about Antonio Nusa (20), a player for RB Leipzig; Kenan Yildiz (20), who had a great Club World Cup with Juventus, who want Ronald Araújo; and Eliesse Ben Seghir (20) of AS Monaco.

In addition, the favorites remain in the running after Nico Williams’ rejection: Luis Díaz and Marcus Rashford. In the case of the former, we are waiting to see what happens, as there are other teams with greater financial capacity that are interested. In the case of the English player, he is very keen to join Barcelona and is becoming increasingly attractive as it would be a much cheaper deal, although, precisely for this reason, there is growing competition for the winger.
