Xabi Alonso has a problem and only two games to solve it. This is the plan

Eduardo Camvinga is ready, 100%. According to Grada 3, the Frenchman is excited and ready to impress Xabi Alonso. During his vacation, the midfielder got himself in shape with a carefully planned training and rest schedule. ‘Cama’, as his close friends call him, left nothing to chance. The Frenchman has followed a very specific roadmap. In the morning, training on the pitch. In the afternoon, gym. Few days off, and accompanied by his entire team. A chef and a physical trainer (who also acts as a physiotherapist) have followed him to Rio de Janeiro and Marbella.

Eduardo Camavinga has taken it very seriously this summer. After a very difficult season on a personal level, with four injuries, the Frenchman wants to be important again at Real Madrid. He spent a lot of time with Vinicius in Brazil for the Brazilian’s birthday, and the two trained together. They were joined by Travis Scott, but only for the photo. Behind the scenes, Eduardo has been sweating it out. Thomas Sérafin, his physical trainer and physiotherapist, was in charge of making him suffer. Every day.

Eduardo Camavinga has a very clear vision. In his mind, the only possibility is to be a starter and win it all again. Little by little, he is earning his stripes once more. At just 22 years old, the midfielder is facing his fifth season at Chamartín and hopes to lift his third Champions League trophy next May.

Real Madrid has confidence in Camavinga

Despite the doubts that arose last season due to injuries, Madrid always had it very clear: “Camavinga is not going anywhere.” There was never an open door for him to leave. Never. A breakup is not in anyone’s plans. Not the club’s, nor the player’s. The Premier League sounded him out. The Frenchman’s response: “No.” Because Eduardo only thinks in white. He came here at the age of 18 to fulfill a dream, and he intends to prolong it. He will not leave the Spanish capital under any circumstances. His family likes Spain and no one wants to pack their bags.

What’s more, he has the confidence of Xabi Alonso. In April, ‘Cama’ suffered a complete tear of his left adductor tendon. He tried to return for the Club World Cup, but it was not enough. So, the player who can play as a midfielder, pivot or even left back still doesn’t know what it’s like to play under the Tolosa-born coach, but he likes it a lot. The training sessions, the tactical approach… the Frenchman feels comfortable. What’s more, he has Xabi’s total confidence. In the talks between the two Merengues, a lot of positivity and confidence were conveyed. They expect a lot from each other. A perfect marriage.

Fall down, get back up

Last season, injuries plagued Eduardo Camavinga. Four, to be exact. A sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee in August, two muscle injuries in his left hamstring in November and January, and a complete tear of his left adductor tendon in April. It was a frustrating situation for both the player and Carlo Ancelotti (and then Xabi, in the World Cup). The French international played just over 2,000 minutes in 35 games. He had moments of doubt, due to physical problems but also because of mistakes he made, such as the penalty he gave away against Osasuna. His goal against Deportivo Alavés was his redemption, but he fell again.

However, he will come back stronger. Camavinga has an unbreakable mind. He knows it wasn’t a good year, and that’s why he’s redoubling his efforts to get back to his best. He has everyone’s confidence and believes in himself. Great things are expected of him, just as he expects to be a pillar of the Xabi Alonso era.
