Squad closed? The reasons why Real Madrid still have a long August ahead of them

$1,400 One-Time Boost Proposed for Social Security Recipients – Here’s How It Would Work

As we have been reporting for some time at Grada3, the Real Madrid squad is closed for the new season, and there was only one option that could change this, and that is if the club finally manages to sell Rodrygo, which would free up space in the squad and the wage bill to try to make one last signing.

Real Madrid, without many options

The arrival in a few days of Mastantuono will leave Real Madrid’s squad covered with the 25 players allowed to be registered in La Liga. Therefore, there is no room for any more players at the club, as long as the club does not leave anyone without a registration for this season, something that is completely out of the question. Therefore, as of today, the squad is closed, but everything could change in the coming days.

And it could change because Rodrygo is knocking on the doors of many teams, aware that this year, prior to the World Cup, he may be left without playing time, and he is not willing to go through that. Although the Brazilian is happy in Madrid and would like to continue wearing the white shirt, he knows that Xabi Alonso will not be counting on him for this season, or will count on him very little, because the Basque coach wants a variety of players, among other things, and understands that Rodrygo has a similar role to that of Vinicius and even Mbappé.

At Real Madrid, given that much of the summer has already passed and they have not received a firm offer for Rodrygo, it was taken for granted that the Brazilian would remain in the squad. However, everything could change in the coming days.

Rodrygo is not the only player on the transfer list. Alaba and Mendy are also on the list, although given their physical condition and recent injuries, it is taken for granted that no offers will be made and that both players will remain at the club for the new season.

Rodrygo’s departure from Real Madrid

The Premier League insists that the arrival of Rodrygo is feasible in this final stretch of the season, and Tottenham and Arsenal continue to prolong the wait before making a final decision. At the moment, there is no offer, but everything indicates that one will arrive in the coming hours or days.

If Real Madrid manages to sell Rodrygo, it would free up a spot on the roster, reduce the payroll, and bring in a few million for the transfer. This could prompt Real Madrid to go after a midfielder before the transfer window closes.

The options available to Real Madrid are as ambitious as they are complicated. The most feasible options, though not necessarily the simplest, would be the Argentinians Mac Allister and Enzo Fernández, from Liverpool and Chelsea respectively, but this would require a very large outlay. These are not the most appealing options, unlike Vitinha and, above all, Rodri, although the former seems unthinkable given his relationship with PSG, and the latter, who would be ideal, is still a serious doubt after last season’s knee injury and whether he will return to his best form.

For now, the squad is closed

But for the moment, Real Madrid’s squad is closed. They are sure to have alternatives lined up if Rodrygo finally leaves before the end of the transfer window, but right now, no offers have been made, so there is no room for another player. The next few weeks will therefore be decisive in determining whether there will be any last-minute changes to the Real Madrid squad.
