The date 1st August holds deep historical and just as much cultural and technological importance. On August 1, 1876, Colorado officially joined the United States as the 38th state, “The Centennial State” earned the surname as its entry came exactly 100 years after signing the Declaration of Independence.

During that time, Colorado was rich in natural resources such as gold and silver. This was a significant milestone in America especially within the different industries such as mining and farming.

Today, 1st of August is celebrated as Colorado Day.
