The future of Vinicius continues to be a hot topic in the sports news of Real Madrid, which is diverting the focus to what really matters to the fans now, the moment in the season when they are putting everything on the line.

In recent months his links with Arab football have been constant and the figures involved dizzying. The 1 billion euros being offered to him by the Arab league would make him the highest paid athlete in the world and in history (so far). Real Madrid would receive more than 300 million in the deal.

Vinicius has taken advantage of the offer to request a contract extension with a salary increase. The footballer currently earns around 15 million euros, and is asking to earn 25 million, which would make him the highest paid player on the squad, above Mbappé. The footballer believes he has earned it.

Mohammed Basrawi, one of the senior figures in the Saudi Arabian League, has spoken about the XXL bid for the Brazilian star. “As a League, we don’t get involved in the signings that each club intends to make. Would we like to have him here? Of course we would, but we, as a League, do not choose the signings, they depend on each club (…)”

The senior official commented on whether the figures for his transfer are real: “I think the amounts are exaggerated, but our money is used to raise the value of the Saudi Pro League in general. We help clubs raise their level, by signing players or through other actions. The economics of football are developing all over the world. In Saudi Arabia too. That’s what the European has to understand. We are not outside of that future development, but I think the figures are exaggerated. And our idea is not to spend money for the sake of it, but to do it in strategies that help us grow together,” he said in the newspaper Marca.

The player has already said that he wanted to succeed in white and, although his attitude is driving the club and the fans up the wall, it seems that he will continue to wear white, especially if the figures that have been mentioned are not as high as the senior official of the Saudi league suggests.
