Without Carreras… What will Xabi Alonso do now with the left back in the Club World Cup?

Real Madrid did their homework, not without suffering. The Whites wanted to take advantage of their minimal lead against Real Sociedad to get into the first final of their fight for the treble and, although they had to go to extra time, they did it. The 41st final for the Whites is now a reality.

Real Madrid’s path in the Cup has become more complicated as the knock-out rounds have progressed. In the KO tournament, the Whites eliminated Deportiva Minera (0-5) in the round of 32; Celta de Vigo (5-2) in the round of 16 at the Bernabéu with extra time and controversy included; and Leganés (2-3) in the quarterfinals.

The quarter-final was not an easy one. They took a 2-0 lead with goals from Modric and Endrick, but a penalty, due to a handball by academy player Jacobo, put Leganés back in the game and they equalized in the second half. Both goals were scored by Juan Cruz. The Whites had chances at both ends, Vinicius in particular was looking for a goal, but it wasn’t until the last gasp that academy graduate Gonzalo popped up to send them through to the Copa semifinals.

Into the semifinals they played Real Sociedad. Real Madrid struck first and took a step towards the Copa del Rey final in their duel with Real Sociedad. The Whites won by the smallest of margins (0-1) at Anoeta, thanks to a goal from Brazilian Endrick in the 19th minute, in a match in which Carlo Ancelotti’s side showed great skill.

Last night, Real started by equalizing the tie, and an imperial Endrick responded with the equalizer. When everything seemed under control for Madrid in the second half, they suddenly found themselves behind in the tie 1-3, 2-3 on aggregate. Madrid equalized in 5 minutes of madness; but Real took the lead once again. Rudiger sealed the deal in extra time and Madrid are in the final.

When and where does Real Madrid play the Copa del Rey final?

Real Madrid are already waiting for their rival for a match of maximum tension that will take place on April 26th and will be held at the La Cartuja stadium. The RFEF has already confirmed the date and place of the Copa del Rey final, the exact time when the ball will roll is still to be announced. Judging by the times chosen on previous occasions, the final could well be played at 10:00 p.m. Spanish time.

Who will Real Madrid face?

FC Barcelona, 31 Copa del Rey winners, and Atlético de Madrid, ten, will play for a place in the final where Real Madrid will be waiting for them tonight at the Metropolitano. It is expected to be a hard-fought match after the first leg which ended 4-4 in Montjuic.

The match began with early goals from Julián Álvarez and Griezmann in the first five minutes of the game. Two goals that seemed to put the visitors in the driving seat and Barça on the ropes. However, Hansi Flick’s team have demonstrated their scoring ability in this 2025 in which they are unbeaten and so, the Azulgrana managed to stage an unthinkable comeback with goals from Pedri, Curbasí, Íniño Martínez and, of course, Leandowski, who came off the bench to join the party. Barcelona went 4-2 up on the scoreboard. It seemed to be over, but Llorente and Sorloth brought the tie back to square one. Everything to be decided in the second leg at the Metropolitano.
