Whether it is due to the high level of competition in certain areas of the Real Madrid playing field, Ancelotti’s lack of confidence or a lack of harmony with his teammates, Arda Güler has not quite found his place in the white squad. The player is clear about what he wants to do with his future, but the white squad has not yet made a firm decision, although it is gaining ground to give him a way out in the form of a loan so that he can cut his teeth.
An untapped starting spot
In the match against CD Leganés, Arda returned to the starting lineup with Real Madrid. A starting spot in which his numbers are not bad, but they have not really taken off, and he also seems somewhat disconnected from his teammates. The Turk won a penalty (which Mbappé converted to open the scoring), three duels (out of three attempted, 100% effectiveness), created five chances, two of which were key, had 61 touches with 93% effectiveness (43 out of 46 crosses) when passing the ball, was fouled twice and only intercepted the ball once.
However, they do not reflect a decisive performance. Lack of chemistry with his teammates and little influence on the game. Arda Güler is not decisive and this means that the minutes he is asking for do not come from Ancelotti, who does not trust him.
An impossible dream?
Arda Güler only thinks about succeeding at Real Madrid. “Madrid gave me a plan and I still believe in it. I am sure that I will succeed at Madrid, I have even bought a house in Madrid. I work very hard and I am always ready to play, as you saw in this match against Hungary,” he said.
Arda Güler also responded to the question about his future as there has been talk of a possible loan. “I love the Real Madrid fans and their support is very valuable to me, I am very grateful to them. I came to Real Madrid to play and be an important part of this team. And I will not stop fighting until I achieve it”.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are considering a departure if he does not improve. Either in the form of a loan, the preferred option as they don’t want to let him go just yet, but if a juicy offer came along they wouldn’t rule out letting him go in the form of a transfer.
Several suitors in the running
In recent weeks there has been talk of Bayern Munich’s interest in the Turkish player, but he wouldn’t be the only one interested among Europe’s big clubs. Arda has also caught the eye of another Champions League team: Aston Villa. The team led by Unai Emery, with the cooperation of Monchi – sporting director – is ready to cast its nets over the attacker. Arsenal, the Whites’ rivals in the Champions League on Tuesday, have also reportedly set their sights on the young Turk, who usually shines with his national team, which makes his market value grow.
Liverpool joins in
Liverpool is the latest team to join the list of teams that are said to be open to welcoming Arda Güler. The Reds are working to make major changes to a squad that showed great promise, but has fallen short in important competitions such as the Champions League where they were clear favorites. They would be delighted to welcome the Turkish player next summer.
In case he decides to make the move, there is tough competition as, as we said, teams such as Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Sevilla and Real Sociedad have also shown interest in his situation. Signed in the summer of 2023 for around €20 million, the Turkish player has so far played 45 official matches (nine goals and seven assists).
