Barça is becoming increasingly clear about its plans for the upcoming transfer market. The Catalan club has reportedly made two important decisions with an eye on the 2025-2026 season, but everything could have changed in the last few hours, taking a 180-degree turn.

There is much speculation about the possible moves that Barça are considering with a view to shaping their 2025-2026 squad. However, the room for maneuver in this regard is limited. The reason? It is not yet in the 1:1 rule and work will have to continue in order to return to a situation that will allow it to do so once the next transfer window opens.

Against this backdrop, according to information published a few days ago by the newspaper Marca, FC Barcelona’s plan is not to strengthen the attack due to a lack of money and because the club believes that the players who are already part of the squad are performing at a high level, as demonstrated by the great performances of ‘El Tiburón’ Ferran Torres or the goals scored by the attacking trio of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Lewandowski. However, this decision could change after what happened at the weekend in the La Liga match against Celta.

Lewandowski out

In the coming weeks, Barça’s attacking trio will be missing a key player. Robert Lewandowski was the protagonist of the most negative news in Barça’s great comeback against Celta. The striker collapsed on the pitch at the Estadi Olímpic in the final minutes of the match with obvious physical problems. Finally, the medical report confirmed the worst fears. “The tests carried out on Sunday have confirmed that Robert Lewandowski has suffered an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh,” Barcelona revealed in a medical statement.

Under normal conditions, Robert is expected to be out for two to three weeks. This is a huge blow for the Catalan side. He will miss the league match against Mallorca, the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter and, most likely, the weekend trip to Valladolid.

If the extent of the injury is greater and he needs another week of recovery, the Polish player would also miss the Champions League return leg against Inter. A few days later, on May 11, LaLiga’s El Clásico would take place, which could have a huge impact on the title race.

All eyes on Moise Kean

Beyond the injury, in recent months, as long as the financial situation allows, there has been speculation that Barça is looking for a number 9 to replace the Polish striker. According to Tuttosport, Barça is “very serious” about Moise Kean (25). The Fiorentina striker’s great season has reportedly caught the interest of the Catalan club.

In Italy, specifically in La Gazzetta dello Sport, it is reported that FC Barcelona is closely monitoring the situation of Fiorentina striker Moise Kean. The striker is performing brilliantly and has attracted a lot of interest in both Serie A and the Premier League.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, he has a €50 million release clause, although it will only be valid during the first two weeks of July. The striker has established himself as a star at the Tuscan club and represents an attractive alternative for the Barça attack.
