Rodrygo’s departure is on hold… for now: Real Madrid activates a plan to replace him

The renewal of Vinicius remains one of the most talked-about topics at Real Madrid. The million-dollar offer made by Saudi Arabia for the player has shaken the foundations of the Santiago Bernabéu. The player is asking for a substantial pay rise to stay with the team, but the club president is not willing to give it to him. Although it was said that the case would be resolved after the end of the season, it seems that both parties have agreed on their positions. According to the newspaper Marca, a date has already been set to announce the renewal.

Vinicius and his Real Madrid renewal

The Vinicius case blew up back in February. After several attempts in recent seasons, Saudi Arabia made an offer for the Brazilian that was impossible to refuse: €1 billion for five seasons. This is a salary that was unthinkable until now and only within the reach of the huge fortunes paid in that country.

What started out as an “irresistible” offer became an opportunity for the player and his entourage to earn more money. The idea of leaving the elite of soccer, Real Madrid, to join a lesser league does not really appeal to the player, especially if we are talking about a five-year contract. Vinicius could cut short his progress in the world of soccer. Let’s not forget that despite having spent years at the top, we are talking about a player who is not yet 25 years old.

Vinicius knows that at Real Madrid, he cannot even come close to earning a similar amount to what is being offered by Arab clubs, but he has used this to ask for a pay rise. The player currently earns $15 million gross per season, but he has asked to be the highest-paid player, with a salary of around $30 million net per season.

However, Real Madrid is not willing to pay him this amount. Although they accept that the Brazilian’s contract can be improved, they are far from offering him such a large sum of money. They believe that it would end up being a problem for the dressing room, creating an imbalance that would cause a domino effect, and they want to avoid that at all costs. Real Madrid would be willing to offer the player a salary of around €20 million net per season. This would certainly place him among the highest paid players in the squad, but it would be far from the Brazilian’s demands.

Florentino Pérez’s stance

The president of Real Madrid is not going to back down in negotiations; he never has and he is not going to do so now. The most high-profile cases in recent years are those of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos, two legends who ended up leaving the team because they did not accept the conditions offered by the club. And if Vinicius does not change his mind, Florentino Pérez will not waver once again.

Agreement between both parties

Although everything pointed to Vinicius’ future being resolved at the end of the current season, it seems that both parties have moved closer together and an agreement has been reached for his renewal. According to the newspaper Marca, as soon as the season ends, an agreement between both parties will be announced.

Therefore, Vinicius and Real Madrid will remain together until 2030. Vinicius has been one of Real Madrid’s most important players in recent years, playing a key role in the club’s successes, and both parties hope that they will continue to write important pages in the club’s history books in the coming years.
