Retirees Are Worried About Social Security Changes – Here’s What a New Report Reveals

Real Madrid is going through a difficult season in which many players have been singled out and labeled as transferable. Being part of the white team is not easy, and the demands are high. Whether due to injuries, age, or overall decline in performance, a player like Alaba could be living his last days as a Madridista.

David Alaba has barely played 14 games in all competitions this season, and his hefty salary is one of the main reasons why Real Madrid are considering letting him go this summer to cash in on a player who still has value and whose contract expires next season.

Although his pre-injury performance in central defense was more than remarkable, with the emergence of Asencio and the hierarchy of Rüdiger, he has been left without a place. In addition, Militao is getting closer to returning after his injury. The Whites are not ruling out signing a center back in the summer transfer window, and several names have already been mentioned as possible starters alongside Asensio in a rejuvenated defense.

His limited playing time and lack of a place in the starting lineup, which would make him the fourth or fifth choice at the back, mean that his high salary, $1.88 million per month, seems too high for the little he would contribute to the team. That is why, unless the new coach, likely to be Xabi Alonso, declares him indispensable, Real Madrid has put him on the transfer list.

The Austrian, who can play in the center of defense or as a full-back, is currently injured. The player has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to the club’s official medical report explaining the center back’s absence. The player underwent surgery, which was successful, so the recovery time remains the same: 6-8 weeks out. The club is confident that he will be fit for the Club World Cup.

Despite this seemingly final decision, David Alaba’s departure will not be easy. According to Grada3, the Austrian footballer is confident of his recovery and does not want to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. Like his teammate Modric, the center back aims to play in the 2026 World Cup and to do so he needs playing time at a major club.
