Real Madrid is looking for a coach. This is a reality within the club. Ancelotti’s departure is more than decided, and the best possible replacement must be found. Although Xabi Alonso seems to be the frontrunner, other names have been linked with the club. One of them was Jurgen Klopp, who has opted to step aside, leaving the way clear for the Spanish coach from Leverkusen. But that’s not all: the experienced coach has not only turned down the Merengues, but also wants to steal one of their players.

Ancelotti’s departure

The era of Carlo Ancelotti has come to an end at Real Madrid. A year to forget in terms of results and performances has condemned the Italian coach, the most successful in the club’s history. No one can take that away from ‘Carletto‘, but his approach and the decisions he has made this season have led Florentino to decide to part ways and look for new horizons.

Although everything pointed to his departure being a done deal and his future sealed pending a signature, everything has exploded in the last few hours. Apparently, the lack of agreement on the departure date and the compensation owed to him by the club have held up his signing as Brazil’s coach, but this has not been the only reason. A million-dollar offer from Saudi Arabia has reportedly made Ancelotti rethink things.

Klopp, a candidate in the shadows

For weeks, even months, Ancelotti’s departure has been taken for granted, and Real Madrid has therefore been taking steps to find a replacement. From the outset, there was one undisputed name and Florentino’s greatest desire, which was Xabi Alonso. Although he still has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen, the white team has been in contact with the Spanish coach for months, and many consider the deal to be closed.

However, the fact that the deal could involve a large sum of money has led to new avenues being explored, such as that of Jurgen Klopp. A coach who left an indelible mark at Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, he is now responsible for football at the Red Bull group.

However, this option, which had excited many Madrid fans who were already fantasizing about having Jurgen Klopp on the bench at the Santiago Bernabéu, quickly faded when the coach and his entourage made it clear that, for the time being, he has no plans to return to coaching. “I understand that there have been inquiries from the best clubs in Europe and some federations about Klopp. However, he has no intention of taking on the role of head coach next season. Not even at Madrid or with the Brazilian national team,” said Marc Kosicke, the coach’s agent, in statements to Sky Germany.

Rejected, but taking a player with him

Klopp may not be convinced by the idea of signing for Real Madrid, but he is convinced by the idea of using the Santiago Bernabéu as a ‘fishing ground’. According to Defensa Central, the German has set his sights on Endrick. The 18-year-old striker is of great interest to Leipzig. Klopp believes that Endrick could become a star in the Bundesliga and enjoy a more prominent role than he has at Real Madrid.

“I have to take advantage. I know how difficult it is to play here, with the four best players in the world in attack, with Vini, Kylian, Jude, and Rodrygo. They are incredible players who always want to play. When I get the chance, I have to help my team by scoring. I always want to score and I’m very happy,” Endrick said a few weeks ago, but the truth is that in his last start, he didn’t take advantage of the opportunity, causing Ancelotti to close the door again on giving the young Brazilian any minutes. The arrival of Xabi Alonso could change that situation, but it remains to be seen whether the player wants to take a risk or a change of scenery.
